True TTL

Nikon D3s f/40 @8 seconds ISO 800 105mm Ratio 1:2 (2) 750 Hotlights
I shot my broken 1.8 lens, but I knew that I would be able to seen through the lens so I place my AE-1 behind it for visual interest.

Bug's Eye View

Nikon D3s f/57@1.6 second ISO 800 105mm Ratio 1:1 (2) 750 Hotlights
My good buddy Tyler ran into a tree in my driveway, and the only piece that was left intact was this piece of reflector from his rear light. I found it to be a pretty cool subject matter so I put a flower in front of it to have a nice reflection in the reflector.

Peacock

Nikon D3s f/16 @ 1 second ISO 200 60mm Ratio 1:2
Stacking 22 images together I lit this peacock feather with a 750 hotlight with a scrim in front of it and a white Gobo flanking the other side to give a little fill.

Stackin some Currency

Nikon D3s f/29 @ 1/250 ISO 200 105mm Ratio 1:1
Using the PB-2 Focusing Stage lit with a Speedotron and a white Gobo I focus stacked these coin with 24 images to get the detail in this shot.

You know what Really Grinds My Gears

Nikon D300 f/57 @ 1/4 ISO 200 Profoto light Ratio 1:1 105mm
I shot my roommate Ian's rear wheel gears to his bike and lit it with a Profoto light at a 1:1 ratio getting in there to get the detail in the scratches on the gears and part of the chain so you can kind of tell what the shot is of, but I really like how it came out.

Optimus Prime

Nikon D300 f/36 @ 15 seconds ISO 200 Profoto light Ratio 1:7 105mm
Introducing Optimus Prime, the heater that keeps me warm at night. At a 1:7 ratio I shot optimus so that I would be able to get the coils in sharp focus still be able to get the name in the photo as well.

It's Time For A Shave

Nikon D300 f/57 @ 30 seconds ISO 200 Profoto light Ratio 1:1 105mm
I back lit this mound of shaving cream with exfoliating beads in it for a macro weekly, I think it came out pretty nice and vibrant in color.

Bottoms Up!

Nikon D300 f/32 @ 1/4 ISO 200 (2) 750 Hot lights Ratio 1:1 105mm
I shot this bottle that my friend Daniel got from his trip to Africa for one of my projects for macro, I shot glass with a light field background flaked with two black cards. I really like how it came out.

Thristy?

Nikon D300 f/22 @ 2 Seconds ISO 200 1 750 Hot light Ratio 1:1 60mm
This is a shot of Coca Cola back lit by a hot light in studio for my macro class at a 1 to 1 raito with the 60mm lens, I could get a greater depth of field, what do you think?

Hurrell Anyone?

Nikon D300 f/4 @ 1/2 sec ISO 400 105mm
My good buddy Daniel was perfect for my assignment for my portrait class, I had to duplicate an image that was influenced by Hurrell and his style of dramatic lighting. Check it out was Daniel not perfect for this shot, thanks mane!

Rev Your Engine!

Nikon D300 f/16 @ 1/60 ISO 200 85mm
This is my sickest shot for portfolio I shot it with two alien bees at the Richard Petty Automotive Center on RCC Campus. I was pretty proud, I think that I even shocked Kevin with this one which in-turn shocked the crap out of me.

French Toast..Oui Oui

Nikon D300 f/5.6 @ 1/20 ISO 200 85mm
Another one of my objects for portfolio was edible, I chose to photograph french toast lit by available window light. I really like how it turned out, what do you think?

Checkmate

Mamiya Phase 1 P21+ f/16 @ 1/125 ISO 100 120mm
For  my object lighting class I glass among other objects for my portfolio, this was my submission for portfolio. Let me know what you think!

Along the Countryside

Nikon D300 f/2.8 @ 1/4000 ISO 200 17mm
On my way home for Christmas break driving home I drove by this run down old country store and stopped in and took some photographs. There was also an awesome old house like houses down and went and knocked on the door, but no one answered. I guess it was because this stranger was racking on their door with a camera around his neck and being a creeper looking through the windows to see if anyone was home. Nonetheless I did get some great shot of this store. And it was great to be able to just shoot some for myself too! But yeah let me know what you think!

The Faces of Maddy

For my portrait class I had to compose 3 photographs of a model of my choosing, I chose my sister's best friend Maddy, not only because she is beautiful, but she graduated in December and moved to Switzerland and I didn't know if I would have the opportunity to photograph her again.

Nikon D300 f/5 @ 1/100 ISO 200 25mm
For the first shot, I wanted a more business oriented photograph, because Maddy is an International Business Major. So I thought that she may be able to use the photo for business purposes. I thought it came out pretty nice.

Nikon D300 f/11 @ 1/320 ISO 200 75mm
For the second photo I had to photograph her doing a hobby or interest of hers, she plays tennis and was on the tennis team at Pfeffier University so I chose to photograph her playing tennis. Let me know what you think?

Nikon D300 f/11 @ 1/60 ISO 200 75mm
And for her final shot was her studio photograph. I think this was my favorite photograph of her because it showed the most of her personality. The scarf over her face shows that she is a timid and shy person, but then you look at those beautiful eyes of hers and they are so playful, and that just shows that once she opens up you, she is so nice and comical and has this wit about her...oh, Maddy how much I miss you! But please let me know what you think about the shots.

Rockin' it Out

Nikon D300 f/16 @ 1/125 ISO 200 85mm
This has to be by far my favorite shot of my portfolio for portrait. It was Kellee's studio shot, I went in and turn the shot into and black and white and then deselected her shoes so that they would stay out the most in photo but I think that the photo is pretty awesome.

The "Beast" Out in the Wild

Nikon D300 f/16 @ 1/250 ISO 200 85mm
For Kellee's outdoor shot I photographed her out in the field by the K&W here in Asheboro, and I really like the shallow depth of field that's around her. And Kellee sorry, but I had to do it, I love you though...haha! You'll always be my Amazon.

Abandon Warehouse Photo Shoot Part 2

Nikon D300 f/16 @ 1/30 ISO 200 85mm
This is another shot of Kellee in the abandon warehouse that I really thought turned out pretty awesome!

Abandon Warehouse Photo Shoot Part 1

Nikon D300 f/8 @ 1/125 ISO 200 85mm
I shot this photo in an abandon warehouse my friend Daniel and Sam found. I thought it would be a great place to shoot Kellee's indoor photo shoot for my portrait portfolio. It gave a kind of edgy punk feel to it.

Snow Bunny

Nikon D300 f/9 @ 1/200 ISO2500 300mm
Angela was not too thrilled to be out in the snow but we definitely got out there and got it done, but you can read her like a book, and that look is "John, know know I am only out in this *&%# cause I love you!" I love you too Angela!

NY Giants MVP

Nikon D300 f/11 @ 1/200 ISO 200 70mm
Troy team is the NY Giants so for his theme portrait I got him decked out in all his gear and posed him with the football angled towards the camera for a really cool effect. Let me know what you think.

Break Time!

Nikon D300 f/4 @1/40 ISO 640 85mm
I shot Troy in this pool hall for his location shot. I really like the focus on him, but just look and the bouquet on the pool balls in the foreground...it just gives me chills.

Cold

Nikon D300 f/5.6 @ 1/20 ISO200 85mm
This is one guy who detest having his picture taken, and when this photo as taken I think it was also somewhere around 20 degrees and after midnight...but this was the first  and only shot, after getting all the lights setup, but he was prepared to be out there for the long haul. Thanks Troy for being a trooper, you're a good friend.

SpongeBob!

Nikon D300 f/16 @ 1/200 ISO 640 62mm
I shot a series of photographs for Orion's theme portraits and these three shots were all so awesome, so I gathered them and put them into this collage, tell what you think?

Playtime with Chalk

Nikon D300 f/13 @ 1/160 ISO 200 85mm
For Orion's outdoor photo I wanted him out play with his sidewalk chalk and I caught him in this pose and it was money, I love this shot of him, let me know what you think?

Snow Day

Nikon D300 f/16 @ 1/125 ISO 2500 180mm
Having a child out in the snow and trying to photograph them is never a good idea to get a great shot, but this one was to good not to include. It's definitely grainy, but if you didn't notice it was shot in the snow and cranked up all the way to  ISO 2500. All in all though let me know what you think?

Stary Eyed

Nikon D300 f/10 @ 1/160 ISO 200 60mm
Have you ever had to shoot children, killin' babies...I do all the time, but shooting children is extremely tedious, even when you are close to them, but this shot was amazing, one of the very few that I did get! Especially since Orion hadn't had a nap at all that day, but I love him so much and I am so grateful for the experience and had a great time doing this photo shoot.

Bedtime Lullablies

Nikon D300 f/16 @ 1/250 ISO 200 85mm
Lay me down to sleep...for Orion after a full day of shooting he was pretty tuckered out, so I took the opportunity to get a shot of him sleeping, isn't he precious?

Hot Ma'ma

Nikon D300 f/8 @ 1/200 ISO 200 85mm
For Angela's studio photo I wanted to get a 3/4 shot of standing here a little hot and sassy, let me know what you think?

Aggie Pride

Nikon D300 f/3.2 @ 1/60 ISO 200 80mm
Angela is a A&T Alumni, so for one of my portfolio shots of her I chose to photograph her on the A&T campus in front of the "February One" statue for her location shot.

Gwynn Family

Nikon D300 f/11 @ 1/160 ISO 200 42mm
My friends Angela and Troy asked me to take a family portrait of them, so one night I brought them into the portrait bay here at RCC and shot this portrait for them. Aren't they cute?
